Dirty bucket, Rotting apples, newspaper, a little water, and old garlic. What do these things have in common? Normally trash for most of it or down the drain. But these things have a higher purpose than filling up our Dump sites. I am using these things to help my garden! Yes these dump resisters are going to be wonderful compost in not too long. I am quickly becoming very passionate about composting. I have noticed since I have started composting our trash has significantly decreased. So much so that we could go 2 weeks before needing the trash to be picked up. I am considering calling and seeing if we can make this happen.

How does your trash look? Just today i put ashes from the fire place, a paper bag from Arbys, old rotting apples, an old orange, some old garlic, news paper, Coffe grounds, old rice and black beans, and straw wrappers, just to name a few. I believe that if I had put all of this in the trash it would just about fill up one trash bag. So i just saved one trash bag worth of trash. If we all did this once a week imagine the impact we could have on the enviroment!!
